Day by Day itineraries

Day 1: Arrival in Chiang Rai


Upon arrival at the airport in Chiang Rai, you will be greeted by our guide, who is waiting for you, then the driver takes you to your hotel in the city


After checking in at your hotel, have free time to take a relaxing stroll around the city.

Day 2: Chiang Rai - Doi Tung - Mae Sai - Chiang Saen - Chiang Rai


Morning

After breakfast, depart for an excursion to Doi Tung Palace (or Kings mother garden). This is a palace in a large, lovely valley with a massive garden including myriad varieties of flowers.


This is the very first palace of Princess Srinagarindra, the royal mother of King Bhumibol, where you can admire stunning sceneries from the balcony with a view of colorful gardens and mountain sights. Dont forget to take some photos to capture this beautiful moment!


Continue to Mae Sai, where you can see the border between Thailand and Burma called Tha Khee Lek, the trading place for the Thai, Burmese, and Chinese with many different kinds of products.


Afternoon

Head to the Golden Triangle area, which once used to be the opium trade area. You can have a chance to join a riverboat ride on the Mae Khong River to marvel at the captivating vista of Mae Khong River, which separates the three nations from each other


Return back to the mainland in Chiang Rai and stay overnight

Day 3: Chiang Rai City Tour - Thaton


Morning

Have breakfast, then begin your adventure in the city of Chiang Rai - a famous tourist destination of Northern Thailand:


Wander around a local market to see the trading activities here, where locals come to sell and buy their vegetables and fruits

Pass by the Wat Phra Kaew temple, and the glorious museum Rai Mae Fah Luang to see Lanna arts and culture

Day 4: Thaton - Chiang Dao - Pai


Morning

Check out of your hotel and head to Chiang Dao, then you will have an exploration of Chiang Dao Temple Cave, which once used to be the cave where the trooper armies of Myanmar stopped for resting.


After admiring the magnificent beauty of stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave, you will have free time for lunch and rest


Afternoon

Go on your journey to Pai, a small town in Mae Hong Son province. Then, you will pass by Mae Malai village, where there is a market with various types of products in Thailand


After that, you have a transfer through Mork Fah Waterfall, a tall, plunging waterfall surrounded by lush jungle. Have a stroll through the dim forest track to the falls and witness the mist hovering around.


Finishing the visit, you will go to Pong Deuid, one of the most stunning hot springs in Chiang Mai. The area has still remained picturesque, and there are shallow pools where you can have a nice swim.


Arrive in Pai in the evening. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Pai - Mae Hong Son


Morning

On the morning of day 5, you will be picked up right at your hotel, then get on a cruise for sightseeing along the Pai River. You are able to marvel at the attractive scenery and normal lifestyle on the way


Drop in to visit the long-necked Karen village, where you can see the women in this tribal village wear rings around their necks to elongate them. In the past, it was considered a shield from tigers, but now its a symbol of beauty and has become a common accessory


Afternoon

Continue your trip to Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, which is located on the outskirts of Mae Hong Son town on the top of Kong Mu Hill. From the hilltop, you can take a peek at the completely captivating nature of the town Explore Jong Kham and Jong Klang temples. These two temples share the same area with a big swamp located in the front and mountains behind, offering a picturesque and serene setting

Day 6: Mae Hong Son Exploration


Morning

After enjoying your breakfast, we will discover Tham Lod Cave by bamboo raft, home to a huge amount of bats and swifts. The cave is adorned with innumerable stalactites in diverse shapes and sizes


Upon arrival, take a walk to see the raft man in front of the cave entrance, who will carry you in by the bamboo rafting inside the cave


Afternoon

Pay a visit to the Lahu Hill Tribe village. You will have an opportunity to watch their unique lifestyle with their agricultural work, including rice production and corn growing


The next village you will come to is the Lisu Hill Tribe village, which is very famous for sewing, embroidery, and making silverware. After seeing the local life in the village, you will return to your hotel to rest, and prepare for the next excursion tomorrow.

Day 7: Mae Hong Son - Mae Chaem - Chiang Mai


Morning

After savoring your breakfast at the hotel, at 07:00 you are taken to a local market, then have a transfer to Chiang Mai via Mae Chaem.


Along the way, you will pass through the Doi Inthanon National Park, which is an area with lush forests and numerous kinds of animal species, specifically birds. You can stop to see some of the most enchanting waterfalls in Chiang Mai.

Day 8: Chiang Mai Exploration


Morning

After having breakfast, you will join a walking expedition around the old town of Chiang Mai. You will be taken to the most exquisite temples of Chiang Mai, consisting of Wat Phra Singh, Wat Phan Tao, and Wat Chedi Luang to see the delicate structures dating back from many years ago


Go on the walking tour to Wat Phan Tao, an antique temple with gorgeous garden area situated right next to the sacred Wat Chedi Luang


Next, we will walk to Wat Chedi Luang, which is a Buddhist temple in the historic center of Chiang Mai. Its chedi is one of the tallest constructions in the old city.


At the end of the walking trip, you will wander along small roads to witness traditional houses around and take a rickshaw excursion. Then, you will walk through the central market of Warorot, which is an outstanding place for tourists who prefer understanding the real Thai culture and daily life.


Afternoon

This afternoon you will have a chance to visit Doi Suthep Hill. The mountains temple is one of the most historically and spiritually important sites in the Land of Smiles


We move up the picturesque mountainous landscapes and pass by dense woods on the way to the base of the complex. Climb up more than 300 staircases and finally take an elevator to the top


Its time to marvel at the breathtaking panorama views of Chiang Mai from a high position


Back to your hotel to relax. If you want to explore more, you can go to the night market on your own. Stay overnight at the hotel

Day 9: Chiang Mai - Elephant Jungle Sanctuary


Morning

Around 08:00 - 08:30, you are picked up at the hotel, then transferred for 1.5 hours South of Chiang Mai through rolling hills, forests, and local farming areas. Admire the beautiful natural beauty along the way


Upon arrival at the sanctuary. You will meet your guide and take a stroll for 10 - 15 minutes through the forest to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.


Before the exploration, you will change into traditional Karen clothes, listen to the introductory lesson about elephant anatomy, history, and behavior before meeting the elephants


You can interact with these lovely giant animals in a natural environment - feed, play, and take photos with them as well as learn about elephants behaviors


Savor a lunch of traditional Thai cuisine and tropical fruits.


Afternoon

You will have an opportunity to learn how to create herbal medicine balls, feed the elephants and go with them to the river to bathe the animals.


Join the elephants for a therapeutic mud spa. You can swim in the river and take photos with them before changing your clothes and going back


Leave the sanctuary for a 1.5-hour drive to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, stay at the hotel overnight.
